Four songs a Day…..a Diva…..:)

Music defies age, music defies boundaries, music defies culture, music defies languages, music is universal……music is the bridge to connect…..:)

My four songs a day series continues…….and today I will introduce one of my top favourite Divas from the music world who comes from a very small Asian country with a fantastic voice with stunning songs and ambience…….many of you I hope will always be familiar with this artist, for them and all music lovers, here’s Anggun…….Anggun Cipta Sasmi.……:)

I got absolutely hooked to her music after watching a music video of her top international hit ‘Snow on the Sahara’ on MTV Asia long time back. I realised this woman has got something in her voice which will take her very far in the world music scenario…….her songs range from pop to rock, ballads, folk with some amazing musical arrangements, very Asian in flavour, but truly international…….She is Indonesian born, French national…..her songs are in Indonesian, French and English majorly……:)

Snow on the Sahara is an exotic song…..let’s listen to it….

She has released five top selling English language albums after recording this biggest hit above…..all her records come under the label of Sony Music France where she resides…..she has received several accolades from the music world and the industry and also an invitation from the Vatican to perform for a Christmas concert alongside Bryan Adams and Dionne Warwick……and she gave some memorable performances in that concert………she has also collaborated with Celine Dione and recently featured in the new Enigma album which came out in November 2016.

Personally, it’s her Chrysalis album which is my top favourite and one of the most popular international albums and a huge hit with almost all songs simply exotic…..a big WOW….!!……so we shall listen to couple of songs from the Chrysalis album….:)….

‘Look into Yourself’ for me is a huge inspirational song….it’s uplifting and real cool……enjoy….

Next up will be another gorgeous song ‘Comme un Privilege’……I absolutely love this song….hope you will too….:)

Much struggle she had to do during her early years in Europe, particularly in England and France, but after her hugely successful ‘Snow on the Sahara’ album, times changed for her, her positive attitude and faith in life catapulted her career to the next level…..and she became one of the very few Asian artists to be known internationally for her sheer vocal prowess……………..today’s last song I will play for you is this beautiful song with its Asian sounds, ‘A Rose in the Wind’………enjoy…:)

I enjoyed while doing this Anggun review with all of you…..I thank her for giving music fans all around the world such beauty through her voice besides her exotic looks……the world must recognise and promote such many talented artists and create new bridges everyday……:)

Thank you……….till next time….:)
