Pune diaries…..a remembrance…part 4.

Pune diaries…..a remembrance…part 3.

With just few clicks, Ajay opened his email account……..his eyes started running up and down, browsing………almost nine mails, nothing of significance………

And then………sender name Amita Thomas……..was he dreaming ?……no……it was really Amita Thomas………there it was, in his mailbox……he just stood there transfixed with his eyes at that name…….his heart and pulse racing………..took some time to sink in, till he clicked to open it…..:)

“Hi, it was so great to get your mail…..was bit of down lately with the flu……your mail made my day….:)………..will not write much today…..will wait to hear from you with more about you……….

Till then…..take care..

Amita….”

Suddenly, it sank in to Ajay, as he realised this is exactly something which he was silently expecting, hoping to happen, that a part of his entire existence suddenly will be booked for some further progress, that his mundane days and nights will be more meaningful with even just waiting for someone who will care anything for him………..that feeling alone created that innocent tension in his stomach with a sweet pain…..a pain of excitement………Yessss…..she has replied…:)…………..

An entire week went by…….so fast……almost like a whirlwind…….words exchanged…..thoughts exchanged…..likes and dislikes exchanged……and the introductions were done in details…..

Amita Thomas, engineering student, all of 19, resident of Pune, daughter of government servant parents………….music was definitely was her primary interest with writing poems and occasional failed attempts at story writing………..loved the natural surroundings of her city, the dreamy surroundings, kind of romantic with the forests, hills, landscapes, railway yards, art houses, theaters, myriad of colleges, book shops, eateries, local evening markets…..and her bunglow type house was her favourite den….particularly her first floor room with windows opening to the view of her colony with the hills as background………………..she helped Ajay to be visually present with her, and that she really wanted to……to introduce Ajay to her world…..or that Ajay started to believe in firmly……he started mentally being in Pune day and night while physically present in Calcutta…..doing his job…..chatting with friends[which gradually became very little…:)]………………………………………….She introduced him to her elder sister, her bro-in-law, her nieces, her parents…………..all through her words…..her endless words in her mails……………………………..She took her place firmly in Ajay’s little attic in the head, in his mind and in his heart….

To be continued…….
